Well, Two Rivers itself has over a 1000 people on their wait list. Maybe if Young wasn't around, it would be even higher.

DCPS is one LEA with a centralized office. DCPCSB Has to gather much of that info from individual schools.

Oh my, these entitled parents are so irritating. Be thankful for the data that you do have. Think of how this is 1,000 times better than schools running their own and not even putting online. All about trust. Golly, please put things in perspective.

These results are still very interesting as is. Glad they at least divided it by grade. Agree it would be very useful to know (and hopefully will be reported soon) how many seats were available in each grade at each school.

Wouldn't hold breath for report on how many kids got in with preference (sib vs. staff), but that would be good to see too.

I don't think MSDC has the number of spaces available per grade at each school.

Uh, why *wouldn't* you feel entitled to that data? Transparency is essential and they sure as hell owe it to us.

The 1,300 or so people on the 2Rivers 1.0 waiting list includes kids grades 2 and above -- those kids were unable to apply to the Young campus, which only goes to 1st.

When you compare The waiting list numbers by grade, the disparity is not as great. It's there, but not much.

Just saying instead of claiming "what do we want, when do we want it", but relax and be happy that it's getting better. There was a poster mad the other day that charter WL weren't release same time as DCPS. Come on, they released the next day. They are two separate entities. Try cutting a little slack.

Makes it seem like the lottery is mostly for pk3 and pk4,because if you are still playing after that, especially in middle school,you have a lot less competition. Wonder if that will change by the time my kids get to middle school.

This was discussed on a separate thread - and the bottom line was current parents (aka DCUM readers) don't know. We were told at mtgs with Hd of School that they don't plan on taking kids after 6th but that they made an adjustment to their charter to allow it theoretically. So it was an option on the My School DC web site. Anyone who needs/wants to know should call Cameron Louis (HOS) or Abby Brisbon (registrar) directly.
