PLEASE HELP!!! New mom to DC looking for a summer camp for my four year old in DC or close to METRO

Anonymous
Please help I have posted before but now the summer time is around the corner. I have called everywhere about programs and scholarships to help but none are available. Does anyone know of any safe, fun, day camps that still have spaces? Thank you.

We are going to the YMCA Anthony Bowen Camp for my three year old. Some of the camps are at the Y, others are elsewhere (not sure where, as I'm only signed up for the ones at the Y). The closest metro is U Street-Cardozo, and it's on the 14th Street bus line/circulator line.

Try the chain-type daycares (Kindercare etc).

Wonders Camp at Edmund Burke School near the Van Ness Metro.

What metro do you live by? What's your budget? There are lots of options, so knowing this would help know where to suggest.

If your child is turning 5 over the summer and starting K in the fall - there are a lot of camps at the Zoo in DC. Unfortunately they don't do pre-k if that is the case for you.

1. Can you share where you have called so people can offer you further guidance?

2. When you say close to METRO - what metro line are you thinking about?

3. Have you looked into DC Parks and Rec camps? Some of the locations manage their own waitlists.

4. Have you called daycares to see if they accept kids for the summer

5. Looked into the JCC or Y?

Hello and Thank you all for your help! In regards to the questions:

1. Can you share where you have called so people can offer you further guidance?
I have tried School for Friends and St Alban's Child Care Center , DC REC but now I do have a space for her now but.... it is in an area of town that is out of my way and I don't have a car. Hoping someone cancels somewhere.

2. When you say close to METRO - what metro line are you thinking about?
I am around the Green and Yellow and a few stops away from RED.

3. Have you looked into DC Parks and Rec camps? Some of the locations manage their own waitlists.
I do have a space for her now but.... it is in an area of town that is out of my way and I don't have a car. Hoping someone cancels somewhere.

4. Have you called daycares to see if they accept kids for the summer .
Can you recommend any day cares in NW or maybe NE by Eastern Senior HS

5. Looked into the JCC or Y?
I apologize what is JCC? YMCA I have tried but they denied me for a scholarship and I do need a scholarship.

Any other suggestions can help. THANK YOU!!!

I live by Yellow and Green, my budget is as low as I can go. I don't make a lot so anything under $75 a week would be good.
