Hearst Question

We are excited that we were matched to our top PK4 choice, Hearst! I am wondering if current families know whether there will be any new family events or open houses. We will definitely take the spot but would love to meet other families. (The MSDC info sheet says the last open house was before the lottery, so I'm not sure if there is anything coming up.) Thanks!

Congrats and welcome! April 24th is next open house - 9:15

Also - check Hearst website PTA page - should be able to find PTA president email (they Have a rising PK 4 too!) may have additional info about PK playdates in Hearst park .

The current Hearst PK4 is planning on inviting new PK4 families to start joining in our monthly playdates on the Hearst playground. I believe that one of the class parents is working on organizing it, and they should begin in April.

I don't think so. I already went to one before the lottery and I have the PTA contact info and schedule. I will probably start attending the meetings in April. I encourage you to go to the open house though, if you haven't already been. There was a lot of good info presented, and it was clear that there is a great group of supportive parents who are very involved in the school. We are excited about next year.

I went to one, but I think it was the first open house of the academic year, and the building was not near completion--I'm curious to see the school now, and also to ask some new questions now that we know we are going. I will try to make it to PTA meetings as well and hope to see you there!

P.S. I answered this by "logging in" so you can PM me if you want. Would love to know you in a non-anonymous way.

There are traditionally a couple of playdates organized by the teachers over the summer, but you should definitely come to the monthly Sunday pre-k gatherings, I think they are at 2:00 on the playground? I'm sure they will reach out to the new families.

Congrats!
