Hi everyone,
I'm looking for classes to go with my newborn. Gymboree has only one class. Any other ones you would recommend in DC? We live in Woodley park but can go anywhere with metro
Thank you! |
| Music together? Starts at 6 months |
| Post natal yoga with baby is great! Good for both of you. |
|
I second post-natal yoga. And I did a mommy and me group - not really a class, but it was good to get out and spend time with other new moms.
|
| Lil Omm in Tenley town has really cute mom and baby classes, great place to meet other moms. Also meadowlark music, in friendship heights is great. And for free classes, definitely look into the tenley and chevy chase libraries for baby story time. Enjoy! |
|
The public library usually have story times for young babies.
Stroller strides might be fun too once the weather's warmer. |
| Bach to Rock isn't in DC but the Bethesda location is near the Metro stop. They have a music program in that age range called Rock n Roll. https://www.b2rmusic.com/rock-n-roll |

You can also go to a French class for babies. It starts with 18 months at the French Academy. It's really fun and ou both learn a lot. Here is the link to the class schedule:

its a six week class for babies up to 6 months. Each week is different. It was fun and an easy way to meet moms with babies my childs age. |
| also, try PACE moms groups. They meet all over. Another infant and mom class! |
| DCJCC has nice music classes. Breastfeeding Center has infant massage classes. Cleveland Park library has storytime. |
|
DC Library has great children's librarians and free activities. Search the calendar or look up preferred locations and see what they offer for babies.

| a second for Meadowlark Music in DC. We have really like it and we started at 6 months too and we take the red metro to Friendship Heights to go. And the CD that comes with it is actually cool. Also there's a Montessori group at Unity Woods Yoga for infants up to 1 year old. And the DC libraries all seem to have good story times, some better than others, but all have been fun that we've gone to. Good luck. There's so much around here, its more like finding where you fit in. |
