Crawfish boil

Anonymous
We are hosting a crawfish boil for a bunch of friends this weekend. We will also serve appetizers, gumbo, king cakes, etc.
My question is: what should we serve to our vegetarian friends?
Also, we need to make a separate pot of corn, potatoes, etc. for them, right? So the veggies are not in contact with meat?

I recommend doing a non-meat red beans and rice with some cornbread.

Perfect, thanks!

Way to come through, PP! Maybe with some seitan if you're really motivated.

No, boil the corn and potatoes in the same pot with the crawfish and spices. Toss a few heads of garlic in there too. Yummmmmmmmmm.

OP.where did you get the crawfish if I may ask ? Are you in the DC area?

We are ordering them online, FedEx overnight delivery.

Love the red beans and rice idea!

Don't boil the veggies with the crawfish. Or boil a small portion separately so the vegetarians can eat it. Red beans and rice sounds delish, but don't inadvertently flavor it with chicken broth or something. Sounds like a fun party!

OP, would you mind sharing your on-line source for crawfish? Have you done this before? Spring just doesn't feel the same without at least one crawfish boil and I don't think we will be able to make it home in the next few months.

Thanks!

Can you recommend a recipe that doesn't leave you longing for some meat?
