Just wondering if anyone has had experience with this airline. Good, bad, indifferent...any information is appreciated! Considering them for a flight to Ireland, but have always flown before with the better known airlines (e.g. United, British Airways). Thank you!
Never flown them but their name tells me I need to put a dental dam in my carryon.

My sister flies back and forth to Ireland quite a bit, and she's not too keen on them. She lived there for a long time though, so I think the "Irish touch" that you get in the service doesn't do anything for her. I haven't flown them in years, but I always liked the experience. It was like being in Ireland once you got on the plane.
Hopefully someone else here will have more recent experience to share with you. |
I flew once a while back- nothing great nothing bad..
We flew with Aer Lingus this past summer and it was an easy and enjoyable trip. Plane there and back was clean. Staff very friendly. As far as the hassle of air travel goes, it was a good experience.
So why did they name their national airline anilingus?
I flew to Dublin on Aer Lingus and it was very pleasant. It was cheaper than other airlines too.
LAst time I used them was 4 years ago, and besides the usual gripes about legroom and seat width it was a decent flight
The Irish airline in general has always had an excellent reputation for customer service and comfort. Flights are typically a little more expensive. I'd choose them over any carrier other than Virgin or BA.
Have flown them many times and they're fine. Ryan Air, on the other hand....
+1 I cringe every time I see this post!! |
Aerlingus is fine. Used to be better (free whiskey all the way to Dublin before Christmas) but definitely safe and as reliable as most US carriers. If they are the cheapest, there is no reason not to use them.
Better than any American carrier. Not quite as good as BA. Free booze.

Thanks so much for the responses!
Op here, btw. |
If you're coming from DC, then it's your only option for a direct flight and that's worth something.
