Wearing version of little black dress to wedding this weekend... stockings or no??

Anonymous
It's not black tie and my dress goes to mid-knee (and my legs are ghostly pale). But I hate stockings!! What would you do? It's a 4pm wedding.

OP here... forgot to add I'll be wearing black suede heels.

stockings - especially since it's technically still winter and then you've got the suede heels . . .

Find a good, sheer pair.

Maybe thigh highs?

I almost never wear heels but if you are wearing black suede heels you have to have something on your legs. If you were wearing strappy silver I would say no.

I wouldn't wear black to a wedding. . .

Go to a nice store to buy stockings, they're really not that bad. I've never understood why people hate them. Go to Nordstrom and get a nice sheer pair.

Wear opaque tights if you have to cover your legs. Stockings are out. If it's not black-tie, patterned tights will not be too casual and you'll still be warm (but if the dress is too dressy for that, go bare-legged and just grit your teeth through the cold.

expensive stockings are not no bad. try calvin klein. nordstroms is good for stockings.

OP here... thanks. If I do go bare-legged, will the black suede heels be a problem? They're like high-heeled mary-janes. I didn't realize I need to wear stockings with suede. I do have open-toe heels but no time for a pedicure before Saturday!

you're going to freeze if you're bare-legged!i don't particularly like stocking either but it's february!

No stockings. Opaque tights. Nothing if you can bear it, it isn't like the wedding is outside.

Black is fine to wedding, keep the makeup light, meaning no smokey eye or flaming red lip.

A bright coat would be best. The long black coat screams funeral procession.

NICE jewlery and some fun hair. Anything too modest also looks funeral.

NO SHEER STOCKINGS.

why no stockings if she's not wearing sandals? I think it looks worse too be bare legged in February, like you're sacrificing your health for fashion. I vote for super sheer, but not shiny, tights either in black or neutral...with winter dress shoes.

The black suede heels sound pretty bad, actually.

Suck it up and wear the stockings. I did at a wedding on Saturday, and I was glad I did. There were a few bare-leggers, and they looked pretty ridiculous.
