DH wants to buy sneakers for DD that are mostly white and with some purple on the bottom so that DS can wear it when he gets older (toddlers). The shoe is reasonably priced - looks more boyish to me (not that I wanted all pure pink sneakers).. but i wonder if it's too much of a girl color? |
Post a link. |
The sneakers are gay, gay, gay. |
Why do you care? Let your boy wear them if he likes them. |
I might do it for a toddler, but it would take an awfully strong elementary school boy to live up to these sneakers. Sad, because I hate pink sneakers and always buy the boys sneakers for my toddler girl - and she wears her brothers' hand me down pants, sweatshirts, jackets, etc. |
White with purple is definitely girly. Sorry. |
All the kids are wearing these different colored/bright shoes these days. My brother has a pair of purple and green Nike's that cost over $100. Check out Chris Brown, Kanye West etc shoes. |
It depends what they look like, and on the shade of purple. At my boys' schools, lots of boys wear pink polos, or pink shirts when they dress up, and my boys have had various tshirts that are dark purple. Lavender can also be cool. But white with lavender trim might be over that invisible line. |
Thanks for all the feedback- the color is a normal purple- subtle mostly white sneakers though- but still purple.. DS would be aorund 3 when he wears these.. I feel for the PP that said they buy boyish shoes for DD.. i guess we are leaning that way though DD wears such pink girly colors..!! |
"But white with lavender trim might be over that invisible line."
Right. Waay over the Boy George line. |
My DS is 3 and has recently declared that purple was his favorite color. He's pretty adamant about it too. So when your DS is ready to wear these shoes there's some chance he might actually like them. It's too bad that as a society we've decided to ban certain colors for boys and others for girls. |
The last thing you need is for some kid with an older sibling to yell "those are girl shoes." |
