A friend gave me a merchandise certificate around $100 since she is leaving the country. I went to the one in Rockville and was not impressed with selection. Are there any particularly good ones in Maryland or close-in VA?

Honestly?
Online is the best. For my kid, I just order. For myself, I go try on pants at the store, but since I usually buy more than one, I end up going online to get more than the one in my size at the store. |
You can't use a merchandise certificate online.
If you can't use it online, I would call their customer service line and see what your options are. Honestly, the stores are terrible.

I actually think the one in Rockville IS the best one in the area! It's better than the Montgomery Mall one. You could try the PG Plaza Mall one...the few times I've been there, I found that in general, the teen/juniors styles were picked over, but the basics and more mature styles had lots of selection left.

Is there still the outlet one in Leesburg?
Both Rockville and Montgomery Mall are always picked over. Call and find out what day they get deliveries and go the following morning when the store opens.
I have luck for LO items at the 7 corners store. But it can be a hike depending on where you are.
Tysons
I shop at the one in Tyson's and have had good luck there on weekday evenings. It's usually a zoo on weekends and the chaos makes it harder to find and try on items
Tysons, yep.
Yep. I stopped going there for that reason. |
Is the merchandise certificate good at other gap chains? (Gap, Athleta, Banana, PIperlime)

Online.
