Jobs/Resume Forum

Hi Jeff,

I wondered if it would be a good idea for us to have a board for job seekers on this site? In light of the many recent posts about job searching in the off-topic forum, I just wondered if it might be helpful.

I'll give this some thought. Keep posting messages of support if you want it.

Not thrilled with another forum, but can see the appeal of adding a jobs/resume section. Maybe I'm just envisioning a Monster.com or Careerbuilder.com - type "overtake".

It may increase viewership r to DCUM if Joe Shmo googles "jobs" and brings him/her to the DCUM website. I can see how that can be considered a benefit.

Besides, isn't having the ISO Nanny, Nanny Available, ISO Housekeeper, Housekeeper Available in DC/MD/VA enough?

Isn't there already a list serve for this?

-someone who thinks there are already too many forums!

I guess I am thinking of an "insider's" board. Where we in this special DCUM club would post our resumes if we felt so bold or, post jobs that we know about inside our organizations. Kind of like linkedin - it's not what you know, it's WHO you know, and we DCUMers are a community, albeit an anonymous one, and perhaps we could help each other. Maybe we'd start creating REAL IDs instead of anonymous ones.

Or we could form a DCUM group on linked in? Jeff would this be OK? It's just a public "tag" on your profile that you consider yourself a member of the community...

I don't participate in any social networks, including LinkedIn, but I don't see any reason to prevent you from doing this.
