St. Ann's Academy in DC

Anonymous
If anyone is searching for options for private school, I'd like to recommend St. Ann's Academy in Tenleytown. My daughter is currently in Kindergarten there and attended pre-K for 2 years. It is a small, very family oriented school with a heavy emphasis on academics. Classes are small with a lot of individual attention from teachers and staff.

As an added bonus, it's a very affordable private school option.

There is an open house next week - Monday Jan 28 and Tuesday Jan 29 from 8:30a to 11a both days.

We love the school, teachers and their overall approach and I'm happy to answer any questions about the school and our experience there.

Molly,

We are considering both St. Ann's and St. Columba's - did you look at St. C's as well or know how that program compares? St. C's has very nice facilities, good reputation, etc. but my husband liked St. Ann's (where we are parishners) and thought there was not enough of a difference in the two to justify the higher tuition at St.C's.

Thanks,

Christine

I would not recommend St. Ann's Academy. The classrooms are messy, the principal is unresponsive and uninterested in improving the school, the vice-principal is rude and stuck-up, the students are badly behaved and poorly managed, and the academics are unimpressive.
