Need resume advice!

Anonymous
I am updating my resume and need some advice because I have held 3 different positions within a year and a half within the same company. Here's the scoop:

I started with the company in Role A and was in that position for exactly 1 year.

I was promoted to Role B and was placed in a new department. I was only in Role B for about 4 months and due to some health issues I put in my resignation.

My (amazing) previous boss caught wind and then offered my job back in Role A but working remotely from home and on a contract basis. My responsibilities are a little bit less/different than before since I am now remote. I am now into month 3 of a 4 month contract (it will most likely be extended but I'm throwing my resume out there just in case).

My question is, should I even include Role B on my resume since I was in the position for such a short amount of time? I was thinking of listing only Role A and making a note that it's now a remote position and pretending that never even happened. My fear is that it would bite me during a reference check. I hope this makes sense, I'm just not sure what looks the most stable...

Can you spin in that Role B was a detail assignment (basically a temporary assignment so that you could get more experience)?

Probably not, it was definitely not a temp assignment.

Why even get into all this? Just outline the bullets on what youve achieved for your org. In what order they happened doesn't really matter.

I'd organize resume by employer. Focus on accomplishments, tenure (overall) with organization, and any increased responsibilities (if any). Ignore B. Who cares?

+1. You were with the same organization the whole time. The A-B-A move was all intramural. Lump it all together in your responsibilities/achievements within that organization.

NP- Assuming her title changed, how would she list it on her resume?

If you feel you must spell out the different internal job titles, List the job titles and tenures at the top of the entry at that workplace, and then the responsibilities for everything together below it. something like this:

Organization name 2009 - 2010
- Contract analyst 7/10 - 12/10
- Senior analyst 2/10- 6/10
- Analyst 1/09 - 2/10

description of duties and accomplishments at org...

Thank you!

Do people typically not spell out the different internal job titles?
