“If you refuse to speak out for Palestinians — 1800
Palestinians, if not more — who were starved to death,
murdered, by Assad in Syria, but you only cry out when
Israel can be blamed, then you are not pro human rights,
you are only anti-Israel.”

— Hillel Neuer, Executive Director of UN Watch, to the UN Emergency Session on Gaza, July 23, 2014.

Is there a single person in the United States that would refuse to speak out against Assad?

I am pro human rights. If that makes me anti Israel, so be it. I am shocked every time I hear how much money we provide Israel at taxpayers' expenses. I am not religious at all, so have no bone to pick with any certain religion and respect all types. I just don't know why we (U.S.) plays favorites like with Israel and why my taxes have to support what they are doing (which is just as abhorrent as Hamas' actions). I have no right answer, but I am not a fan of anyone in this conflict.

Sadly, the answer is yes.

I don't know anyone who supports Assad nor do I know anyone who supports ISIS. They are stabbing the ummah in the back, acting terribly not just with the Muslims under their oppressive barbaric rule but also with the christians whom they were supposed to guard and protect. Manufacturing death and hate is their profession. When these people are so brutal that even Al Qaeda calls them out, you know you have a serious issue. This is a group that attracts low life's and failures from across the world and feeds off of their low self esteem and hopelessness. Ironically they call us other Muslims, sellouts and tweet photos of their beheadings to us even as they receive funding from sources beyond questionable. The people of Syria and Iraq are held hostage as they already had to deal with their oppressors Asad and Al Maliki, and now have to deal with new oppressors as well.

What's it like being Muslim? Well, it's hard to find a decent halal pizza place and occasionally there is a hashtag calling for your genocide...

So this essentially boils down to:

"Other people did it, too, and THEY didn't get in trouble.... why are you picking on ME?"

The Israelis are not pro human rights-they behave similar to the Nazi regime-as "smart" as these people supposedly are they are not too bright in figuring out how to ensure peace in this territory they have infiltrated and taken over in the most unjust and inhumane manner.

Basically all of the pro Assad people are conservatives. I can't imagine someone supporting Palestine and yet Assad.

The supporters of Assad are the anti-Islamists. You may think they are FP realists but Assad offers nothing to continued stability. His only value is to fight Islam.

But realists know that continued oppression just encourages radicalization of the opposition. It only gets worse over time. The solution is not to continue to deny the opposition power. When you burn the meal, you don't leave it on the stove longer in the hopes that it will get better. You take it off the stove and make the best of what you have.
