Best Greek Restaurant/ Greek Bakery In NOVA

Anyone have any really good authentic Greek leads in NoVa? Ideally Alexandria/Springfield area, but will travel...

This is the question I've asked many Greek friends throughout the years. The answer I get is that none of the restaurants meet Greek standards.

I've had many good meals at Vaso's Kitchen in Alexandria, though. She has a sister that owns another restaurant on King St called Taverna Creketou. Taverna has a great patio area and good service but the food is not as good as Vaso's.

Also, I've heard really great things about Nostos in Vienna. I haven't eaten there yet but it's supposed to be excellent.

I like Greek Taverna in McLean.

Plaka Grill in Vienna has excellent food, but it's very casual. They also offer decent and affordable Greek wines.

Might be too far out for you, but Katerinas in Old Town Manassas is very good. I studied in Greece in college so I know Greek food.

Since it's far from where you live, it might be fun to incorporate it with a trip to the Manassas battlefields or something.

Keep in mind they are closed for a couple weeks in August.
