Anyone found a local bookstore to take books? I have excellent condition hardback and paperback books. YA literature, sci-fi, etc... |
There used to be a bookstore in DuPont, on 22nd st. That would come to your house and take the ones they wanted. It was great. But that was five years ago... |
Very little market for used books. Try your local library. They may take some classic titles. If not trash them |
Your public library:

Books for America. They will pick up |
Amazon Trade-In. I did it with DVDs once, you search out the items you have, send them free, and get a gift card:
http://www.amazon.com/Trade-In/b/ref=sv_b_tradein_0?ie=UTF8&node=2242532011 I'm sure you could find a better deal if you find a used bookstore; but at least it's easy and seems more likely someone else can enjoy the book again. |
Yes, I've given to the library and done the Amazon thing. |
This was Second Story Books. Their website implies that the Dupont store is still there, but doesn't give an address on the contact page. There's also a Rockville store. http://www.secondstorybooks.com/ |
There are blue donation boxes all over the place. I buy thrift store books and then donate them after reading. |
Please, please don't trash them. Terrible for the environment. Give to your local library to sell - you can just drop off at MoCo Friends of Library. Give to Books for America. Give to Goodwill. |
