Just wondering if I'm better going now, or waiting until the summer (possibly a weekday) at the end of June / July. No interest in the "water" features, though. We have a 2 and 4 year old, fwiw. Thanks. |
I would assume that all amusement parks will be packed this weekend. |
Yes. And in addition to being overcrowded it will be way over-priced.
But other than that, great idea. ![]() |
We were going to go over Memorial Day weekend and ended up going this past weekend. It was 70 and sunny, under 5000 people. It was perfect!
However I'd expect more people this weekend and it the weather doesn't hit 80, which it looks like it won't, you won't have as many people in the water which means the dry spots will be crazy crowded. Line up for the parade a full hour before (sadly not kidding) - it starts at the entrance and goes until the downtown area. The best part of the parade happens towards the end. I would say book breakfast w/ a character but I remember a month ago they were already sold out (it gets you into the park sooner). Be prepared for long waits, don't set expectations too high and you'll survive. Our 2 y/o DD had the most amazing time! |
PP here should add Cookies area wasn't open this past weekend, I think they're pushing to have it open by this weekend but not sure if they'll make it. They were testing rides and still painting Saturday. It is all dry so it would help with the crowds if they manage to get it going. |
We go every year the days AFTER Memorial Day weekend. That Tuesday and Wednesday are really quiet. It gets more crowded as the week goes on, and by Saturday it's a madhouse. Tuesday Wednesday Thursday are perfect. |
Of course it will be. |
Go to Storybook Land, outside of West Atlantic City instead. Better option at all times than Sesame Place. |
We used to go every Memorial weekend when my kids were little. This was about 5-6 years ago. It was busy but never too crazy. The lines were not too long and we were always able to find seating by the water thing with the big bucket of water.
|
True, and definitely not worth it if you're not interested in the water features. |
Isn't it mostly water features? |
Yes it's mostly water rides, but the Cookie-land addition that should bring in 4-5 dry rides/activities as well. If you're planning on just doing dry then at least try to go early so you can ride a few things w/o much of a line. |
Why aren't you interested in the water rides? There's even a huge splash pool the 2 year old will love. We went on a regular summer thurs and fri last year and Friday was way more crowded.
I am not a park person, and dreaded it, but it was super fun and the kids love it. |
