Why is public prayer important?

The fact that I think all religion is ridiculous and am embarrassed for you, should not dissuade you from proclaiming who you are. The fact that many think like me, but are willing to tolerate it because it makes you feel better should not discourage you.

Go for it! I like to know who you are!

I'm embarassed for you, writing such a sophomoric characterization.

Good. Keep it between you and God. Otherwise, it's for the glory of man and NOT GOD!

When Jesus specifically told people NOT to pray in public?

I agree. Making a big display of your piety is pretty unChristian. It's fine with me if prayer leaves the schools.

Signed, a Christian

Jesus said if you pray with at least 1 other person he is among you.

And ^^ if you don't acknowledge me among men, I will not acknowledge you to the Father.

That seems a little circular. It's important to pray in public because you have the freedom to do so?

If people are asked about you , they should be able to identify you as a Christian . It should be the first thing they think of when describing who you are . If you cannot be easily convicted of being a Christian then you probably aren't one.
