The best I have been able to find is Citrix vitamin C antioxidant sunscreen. It's not perfect but it's pretty good especially under makeup. Let it set for a while and it mostly disappears.

Bullfrog spray. It goes on clear. Bullfrog also makes a stick sunblock for the face.

+1 Used the one with bug spray on my kids last summer and liked it alot. Still looking for a good one for my face, though.

I was once in Puerto Rico on business. I applied sunscreen and offered some to a colleague, who is black. He laughed and said, "No thanks. I have natural protection." He did it in a way that made me feel rather ashamed and foolish. Did I do something clueless? Serious question. This has bugged me for a couple of years.

Nope you didnt do anything wrong. He was/is crazy. I'm AA and we need sunscreen just like anybody else. My brother (also AA) got the worst sun burn back in high school. Trust me, the sun doesnt discriminate.

I'm AA and I swear by Neutrogena. The Ultra Sheer and the spray on ones. No white residue.

Supergoop has a new serum that you might like. Got a sample of it from Sephora and it's unlike any sunscreen I've ever used. Almost weightless. I've only been using it for day-to-day, so I haven't tested it out on the beach or at the pool.

A second for neutrogena! Love it

Can I ask what type of skin you have? I know it's Neutrogena, but I wonder if it's ok for acne prone skin.

NP - I've heard that Neutrogena can cause clogged pores on lots of people. I read at Into the Gloss on the post about Neutrogena, under the comments two or three people said their derms fingered it as the cause of clogged pores.

You didn't do anything clueless. The more melanin you have, the higher natural protection your skin has against the sun. However, it's not a cloak of immunity, so your co-worker still would have been wise to use the sunscreen.

I'm the AA that swears by Neutrogena. I'm 43 and still have really bad acne if I dont use the acne skin care line from Clinique. For sunscreen I use the Clear Face line from Neutrogena (on my face). For my body I use the spray on stuff (in the blue can). I've never had more breakouts from it but everybody skin is different.

Word to the wise...stop buying that garbage they sell in most stores..speaking from experience a lot of them aren't strong enough for our (African american)skin .all of that in the long run will cause us skin problems....use organic coconut oil or mango butter lotion..both are good for our skin against the sun.
