Has anyone ever had a UTI that led to a Kidney Infection? I was in the urgent care on xmas night feeling like I was peeing needles, the doctor found bacteria and blood in my urine and put me on a 7 day antibiotic. I finished the antibiotic but still felt very uncomfortable and last night and today have had a lot of cramping in my lower back along with the chills...no fever, I don't think....has this ever happend to anyone else? |
yes that happened to me a few years ago. extemely painful! antibiotics didn't work on me, but instead gave me fever and a body rash. Acupuncture helped me instantly. A soon as the first session was over, I was able to relieve myself normally. It was like night and day...I am totally amazed. I've never had a UTI again since I had the acupuncture. |
Acupunture cleared up an infection? |
I have a long history of UTI's with unusual symptoms that mirror kidney trouble, so I know the back pain of which you speak. Some UTI's need more than 7 days of antibiotics to clear up. I always get 10 days now, and doctors agree with me given my history. I would go back to the doctor for another urine culture -- your UTI may have come back and you want to be treated right away. |
Thank you. Is there anything that I can do for the pain? |
11:32 here. Get back on antibiotics as quickly as possible, and the doctor can prescribe some medicine that will help with UTI pain. I never used it much myself given my symptoms didn't generally include the common urination pain, but its pretty common for doctors to offer it for UTIs. I had more trouble with very high temperatures and back pain, for which I took Advil/Tylenol until the drugs kicked in (usually after about 1 day). |
I had a kidney infection back in 02 when I had an untreated UTI (I was about to go on a long trip, which got cancelled, so I was just going to get treatment later.... I know, stupid)
I had to take a very strong antibiotic for 10 days and it finally cleared up. |
For me, I am allergic to many antibiotics. I had UTIs for many years in my twenties. So, I went to the acupuncturist (usually went to him for colds)—a very reputable one (trained/certified in China, Germany and US with a 40 yr practice), and the pain was gone by the end of the session. I kid you not. I took the herbs he prescribed for about 2 weeks. I've never had one since then, and that was 6 yrs ago. I'm not saying this will work on everyone, but it sure did for me! |
