OK first please correct me if I am wrong does the "D" stand for darling? If so now I can say gag me with a spoon, who came up with this ridiculous notion? SO SILLY. I find it funny when people are referencing divorcing their husband or wife or blasting their kid for having a party and refer to them at "DH" or "DW"...I am sorry I find the concept for lack of a better word just stupid.
Signed a FDP (Former darling poster) |
The "D" could also refer to "dear", "dumb", "damned" Take your pick |
Gag me with a spoon? |
Welcome to the internet.
The internet doesn't care what you think. |

Not sure where it originated, but I first learned it on The Knot/Nest boards probably 10 years ago now. |
That's actually worse than what she's complaining about. |
Welcomd to the internet grandma. |
LOL. I haven't heard that expression in over 30 years. How old are you, OP? Anyway, if you don't want to put a D in front, then don't. Welcome to the internet. |
OP, this is not a DCUM-specific thing. It's used everywhere on the internet. Welcome to the 21st century. |
I've seen
"Well my H said he was going to..." |
Agree it IS silly. Period. But so are many other annoyance on the internet. |
In my language FDP is a better acronym for you. |
Overuse of "shudder." Like...my MIL only had non-organic *shudder* half-and-half. |
