| Balducci, Fresh Market or McLean Butcher |
| Call the Grosvenor Market and tell the butcher what you want. They have the best service and meat! |
| Trader Joe's has surprisingly good steaks. |
Unfortunately, TJ has issues with labeling their meat correctly: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/jean-halloran/trader-joes-meat_b_2775478.html |
| I've been impressed with Grosvenor Market the 3-4 times I've been in there. I'll have to give their butcher a try. |
| Wagshaws if you are wealthy. I also hit eastern market for prime beef. About 2/3 the price of wagshaws there. |

Come up to Jefferson and go to Hemp's Meat Market, Or Middletown to the South Mountain Creamery.
(Pick up some Ice Cream and eggs while you are there) |
| Wagshals and Whole Foods are both good but can be very expensive. If you are on the Hill, Union Meats at Eastern Market is excellent, lots of variety in cuts, quality and price. Nice folks too. |
| I am not sure it is worth the drive but there is a Market on Main Street in Laurel (near the racetrack) that has excellent steaks in the back of the nondescript store. I cannot remember the name now but the prices were very good and steaks excellent and thick cut. |
Haven't been in a while since we moved up to NW DC, but I think it was Union that often has "Day old steaks" that have been frozen for a dollar or two off regular price. Often had USDA Prime available. |
| nvr gone wrong with whole foods steaks |
| Costco prime steaks are excellent. I also buy steaks at Stakowskis in Gtown. Very good. |
