I'm 14.5 weeks and have felt terribly nauseous the past few days. I had only minor morning sickness during the first tri. Anyone had this? My toddler did have diarrhea yesterday, so maybe it's a bug? |
My first pregnancy the worst of my morning sickness was between 15 and 20 weeks. I'm 16 weeks now and have felt worse than the first tri, but still way better than my first pregnancy. |
I've been way more sick in my 2nd tri than first - this is my first pregnancy, so I (perhaps stupidly?) thought I'd feel better.
i've read that the throwing up (because I actually get sick, not just nausea) is related to the same reasons we get heartburn. Not sure how true that is (I plan on asking Dr when I go next). I hope it gets better for you soon, OP! |
ZOFRAN! It's your friend. |
+1 =) Ask your OB! |
Coming from someone with HG, nausea and vomiting of pregnancy isn't terribly well-understood. So, for one person the primary mechanism might be hormonal, in which case you could reasonably expect a reduction in the nausea/vomiting as the first trimester ends. But someone else might have nausea primarily triggered by a relaxed gag reflux, and that may not improve or even worsen over time, as the baby gets bigger and she feels more pressure on her stomach.
Most women do feel better after the first trimester, but not all. Mine definitely waxed and waned, and I found things like fatigue really made it worse. In any case, definitely talk to your OB. I hope you feel better soon. |
