Beach can be a pain with blowing sand, you can't swim because you have a sleeping baby next to you. But they also can't run off, the question is, how do you haul the gear without a helper? Leave the baby unattended while you go back for the umbrella, cooler etc? I'd want a nice shady spot with beach service ![]() What might be nice is a place with a great view of the water from the room, room service, cable, a nice warm zero entry pool (although 4 months is kind of young for the pool too, could be a bust) to play with baby in. Nice places to go stroller walking. |
Are you serious? Now that's sad. Go! |
since you've been to a lot of the close by places, I would do NYC. Your LO is the perfect age for that, they are portable and inexpensive. NYC is a very breastfeeding friendly city, and there are lots of cool museums and restaurants to try. Take 3 days and enjoy the city! ![]() |
Another vote for NYC (or anycity on the Northeast corridor). Amtrak is a godsend when traveling with kids under two - they are free, you can interact with the baby and you can even walk around if you want to. |
Totally serious I'm afraid. And indeed sad! Maternity leave ended about the time the colic subsided a couple weeks ago. (I seriously am jealous of the OP's trips; that's how I envisioned my maternity leave, not holed up in the apartment deep-breathing through 3-hour screaming fits and not sleeping more than a couple hours at a time.) My ability to get out improved dramatically when the colic subsided, but she's still a pretty demanding baby, and i'm still figuring out how to do it on my own when working fulltime allows. Lots of weekend outings as a threesome though! And I'm working on my adventurousness! |
Just go to the store for an item or two or to Starbuck's. Mini steps. I would've killed myself if I was stuck in the house all the time. |
I love Williamsburg! It's nice just to walk around. And or sand bridge beach...nice beach. Virginia beach has a great sidewalk parallel to beach, great to put baby in stroller. Stay at one of the nice hotels with a balcony ![]() |
It's ok!!! We have all been there!!!! One day at a time... It's harder then people think. It helped me to take someone with me... |
Mean responses like this are why so many people hate DCUM. |
