Is anyone aware of a good nutrition tracker? I'm just entering my 2nd trimester and reading about GD, so I'd love to start eating as well as possible to avoid it. I am not overweight, and aside from my age and a previous miscarriage I have no major contributing factors, but I did try weight watchers before my wedding to help me try to eat right, and I really liked it. Is there anything like that for pregnancy? |

I've always liked fitday.com. It lets you set up customized nutrition goals, and I used that to track my vitamins to see how much I could get from real food vs. a prenatal. |
You won't be able to do Weight Watchers maintenance unless you met your goal.
you CAN do weight watchers under 'breast feeding', but if you aren't overweight, I wouldn't recommend it especially without meetings. I like MyFitnessPal (but, I'm a WWer and decided not to use it during pregnancy because I found it stressful). Both MFP and sparkpeople have recipe builders and mobile apps |

It can be, but I think it's probably more beneficial if you were on it before. Additionally, if the OP has never done it before, it won't track your nutrients or calories.
Just be sure to select breastfeeding or else you'll be eating too little. |
I use myfitness pal as I find it has the best database of restaurant food and typical groceries. That way I actually track without getting annoyed. Its not pregnancy specific so you'd need to know what your goals are, which can be challenging. If you can spring for an appointment with a nutritionist they could get you on the right path. |

Definitely make sure that you are eating enough calories if the nutrition trackers don't account for pregnancy. You may need to change them as you go. I would run it by your OB/GYN. |
Thanks so much everyone! I really appreciate it. I have tried WW before, but also have mfp already downloaded for excessive purposes-have not yet tried its nutritional guidance. I think you're right about the nutritionist. I don't eat meat and am trying to balance my protein vs carb intake, as I'm trying (early) to avoid gestational diabetes - my husband was a 12 pounder when he was born!! |
