Usually I use a cream to remove the hair on my upper lip once every two months. Now that I'm expecting, I'm not comfortable using chemicals on my face. Anyone have any other good options that i can do at home? I have never found a wax that worked. Is tweeting my only option? |
Ugh. That should be "tweezing" not tweeting. |
Go to a salon to get waxed. Don't do it yourself. |
Threading! At most malls these days as kiosks, or lots of salons do it too. |
Wax. It doesn't hurt if you find a good place for it - my favorites are places that do sugaring (you can get much shorter hair, as the product warms to your skin, not in a pot). It's way more efficient than tweezing.
I trust Michelle at Bang at the Verizon Center for my waxing, but if you can afford it, Bliss is also great. |
Threading. No chemicals, just a string of floss. Takes about 4 minutes. |
Veet wax strips.
But honestly, any cheapo nail salon is fine for getting it waxed, don't spend more than $10 on this. |
just make sure they don't double dip - this is the hardest part about going to the cheap nail place. My nail place charges $7 for a lip wax, but the double dipping is pretty severe so I don't got here anymore for it. |
Threading. They use cotton thread. I go to Rani at Guven Salon. Near whole foods in glover park. Also try DuPont Threads. Both places are fast clean and cheap. Also take appointments. |
If you want to do it at home, try sugaring. I use MOOM, you can buy a kit on amazon, it's awesome.
As for threading, I personally would not recommend Rani at Guven, she was a nightmare and ruined the shape of my eyebrows after I specifically said "keep the shape, just clean them up". Ugh!! I recommend Nitasha at Dupont Threading, she's the best, but make sure you make an appointment with her, she's the owner. |
