Another Disney Question

We are going later this year with my 2 1/2 yo.

Our trip is in December when the attendance is lowest (prior to holiday's).
I am looking for eithers tips OR recommendations of itinearies / books with good plans.

General plan:
Going for 4 days - planning on going to parks for 3 days and spending 1 day at pool and doing other stuff
Staying on property in a 1 bedroom Villa so we have space for naps as well as meals if we chose
Not doing character meals (I think my DS is too young)
Bringing stoller with us since new rates are crazy
Thinking about doing Mickey's very special Christmas Party on a week night. Plan would be to get there early and do as much as Holiday special things as reasonable.

For parks - focusing on Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. No plan to go to other park (can not remember name right now). May go to Epcot in small dose as hotel is very close.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated

We went last Christmas with our 2 year old. I would recomment Epcot as well. They have "Kidcot" stations where the little one can color and collect "charms" for a mask/necklace. They also have a Nemo ride, lots of fountains and a dinosaur ride that our little guy liked. ... My two cents.

I was at Disney a few years ago. December could be really chilly, so you might want to come up with some alternative things to do if the pool isn't pleasant (even if it is heated).

The Animal Kingdom is a must, as the animals were much livelier when it is cold out than during the sleepy humidity of the summer. Magic Kingdom is also a must, Epcot might be really boring. Seaworld might be better. Universal Studios is the best park for when it's raining. A lot of the lines are indoors, as are most of the attractions.

Totally agree that it likely will be too chilly for the water parks. We go to Disney ever year, the week after Thanksgiving, and it is really too chilly unless your kids are really hearty.

Make sure your hotel has a heated pool.

Disney Studios theme park has a "Disney Playhouse" show and a separate Disney Playhouse character breakfast/lunch and a couple of other good attractions/shows for preschoolers. Just go to www.waltdisneyworld.com and search for "preschooler." You will see a lot of great options.

We always go this time of year and we love it.
Just be aware that if you go to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party that it is really crowded at the Holiday Shows, especially the early ones. It may be a little rough on your little one.

I have really enjoyed the Christmas Party in year's past, especially the parade - the wooden soldiers are the best.

PP, is the Very Merry Christmas Party separate from the parade that goes through the whole park? If not, where is it and exactly what does it include?

Thanks!

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is a separate, ticketed event. The Magic Kingdom closes at 7, and then it is 'open' to the Christmas Party guests. The cost is somewhere between $45-$55 for adults and $40-50 for children.

What's special about it?
-The castle is lit up in white lights
-Two showings of the Christmas parade
-Holiday shows
-Snow on mainstreet
-Complimentary treats (hot chocolate, cookies, apples, apple juice) throughout park.
-Rides are open to enjoy as well

Dates this year are: November ember 10, 11, 14, 16, 20, 21, 30
December 2, 4, 5, 7, 9, 11, 12, 14, 16, 18, and 19

Thanks.

So you have to pay the day fee AND then get another ticket for the party? (If you want to stay all day). That seems pretty expensive.

My son is only 3 yo, so I am not sure it will work and that we will get our money's worth.

I would definitely not do Magic Kingdom and then the Christmas Party the same day.

I've liked doing it when I might get into Disney around 3 pm and not want to pay the full admission for a park.

A 3 yo isn't going to get much out of it.
