I'm working on some enhancements to our website and I have a question for the users:
How do you check whether a thread you were reading has been updated? Do you look if the number of replies have changed or do you look at the date and time of the last message? |
Number of replies. |
I try to remember date/time, but most often I just click on the last page number and scroll down. |
Number of replies. Also just refresh the thread. |
I look to see where it is in the recent posts lineup. Then by number of posts. |
Date /time mostly.
Sometimes I think of getting a log into make it easier to check. |
date/time in recent posts. not perfect, but I'm here with enough (too much) frequency that it works decently well. |
Date and time. |
See if theres a new post in the circle to the left and look at where it is in the lineup. If theres a thread i am curious about i often come back later and try to find it. That isnt always easy, or often i forget about it. This might be a good reason to register, so i can track threads im interested in. |
recent posts and where the thread is relative to the top of the list |
Just refresh the page. |
I check recent topics, refresh the screen and just glance at the topics from the top down until I get to a thread where I've read the last posting (or it was mine). Then, if I'm going to continue reading, I'll refresh and start at the top again. |
