Cribs-how many positions?

Hello
I started looking at cribs for our first LO. I found thsat cribs can be with 2 and as many as 5 matrass positions... How many positions are trully needed?

I think ours has multiple positions as well; all we ever used is the highest and the lowest.

The crib position is going to based on your baby's stage of mobility and your height.
When you have a newborn they aren't mobile at all so the mattress is usually at it's highest level.
As they continue to grow and start moving around you're going to have to keep lowering it.
You want the height that's most comfortable for you to reach in and put down or pick up the baby, without them being able to get out.

I just was thinking whethe rto get a crib with 4 positions and a drawer underneath or 5 posiions and no drawer. I am just wondering if 5 positions are trully needed.

I have a 3 position crib. I had it at the top position until he could sit up. Then it was at the middle until he stood up. Lowest was after that. Not low enough, as he was able to climb out! I think 3 positions is enough...I can't see a reason for more.
