Hi. I am 34 weeks and would really like to go swimming for the duration, but am not able to take care of things down there well enough to feel comfortable. Does anyone have a recommendation for a person familiar/comfortable waxing a pregnant lady? Also, how much more do you think it hurts than usual? I do not want anything fancy or aggressive -- just enough to not be embarrassed.
Thanks! |
Elena at the Red Door Spa at the Watergate. She is PHENOMENAL. |
Im 29 weeks pregnant and I go to Aura Spa at Vida (15th and p) usually I see Kirsten but any of the staff seem fine with my belly. Im sure they have seen have crazier stuff in that line of work ![]() |
Okay, here's a crazy question for you. I have never had a bikini wax before (I know, this sounds crazy to many of you, but I don't have sensitive skin so I normally just trim and shave). Anyway, I'm now 30 weeks and I can't see well enough to take care of this myself. I do NOT want a brazilian, just a waxing of the side hair. I'd also like the other stuff trimmed down. Is that something they do duringa wax or no? Again, please don't mock me. I'm new to this! |
No mocking. :o) If you make an appointment at a nice place, they should wax and trim for you, no problem. The cost may be slightly more than a normal wax, but well worth it in my opinion. Just tell the woman what you want. |
Anita at Ibiza in Foggy Bottom. She's outstanding: thorough and SUPER fast.
14:40, they can certainly do the side hair and trim. They'll usually do as much/little as you ask. |
I don't know Elena, but +1 for Red Door Spa (I go to Pentagon City). Sometimes I just get the sides, like PP wants, sometimes I get more. I can't imagine that a pregnant belly would faze them. |
+2 for Red Door Spa at Pentagon City. I went until the very end and the belly did not bother them at all |
Tammy at Polished in Georgetown! |
Anne at PR at Partners in Shirlington. Get the sugaring done instead of waxing. It's much better for your sensitive skin. Also Anne used to be a nurse! ![]() |
Even though I go to Bang at the Verizon Center, I prefer Shea at Bliss downtown - she's so gentle and the environment is so relaxing that I want to live there. They do a "betweeny" which is a little more than a regular bikini but not at all a brazillian. I highly recommend it. |
I don't recommend Tammy at Polished in Georgetown. They double dip there! That is very, very unhygienic. You don't want that kind of worry about uncleanliness while pregnant. |
I go to Angela at PR at Partners Maxza Gallerie. I have waxed for years and years and she's the best I've ever been to. It's sugar wax and much more gentle on my skin. Belly would not bother her at all |
Jacky at Bluemercury Bethesda Row. She has three kids and is AWESOME -- waxed me at 40 weeks and it barely hurt! |
Oh my god people, just live with a normal vagina for a few months. |
