CNN is calling this a 'child-sex trial'. Are you kidding me? It was NOT sex! These kids were raped and violated. I cannot even fathom how insensitive this must be to the victims. CNN won't report names of underage victims, yet they will characterize the events as 'child-sex'. I'm so sick of the media. And we wonder why so many people knew about this and did nothing to stop it.... |
I totally agree. With the whole Casey Anthony ordeal, they kept calling her "tot mom." I wrote them a few emails trying to explaining why that is a horrible thing to say, and never even got a form reply. I still cringe when I hear that. |
When it comes to certain demographics the news media are generally easy on them.
Casey Anthony was another good example. |
Of course, in the same article, they frequently refer to it using terms such as "child rape case", "sexual abuse"(Those two terms were on CNN's front page), molestation, etc. I'm not sure why you picked that one particular phrase, which was only used once, out of the lengthy article to complain about, while ignoring the rest of the article, and I would hardly see that as evidence of how they characterized the events. From my reading of the article, it seems like the author was attempting to characterize Sandusky as a manipulative predator, particularly in the last half. That sounds fairly accurate to me. |
DH is a Penn State graduate, and he thinks Sandusky will walk! ![]() |
Look at the ones who took the stand in his defense! "Great guy -- loves kids." Unfrickinbelievable.
I only wish his son had stepped forward sooner. |
Happy Valley is West Virginia (west) what a backwards place |
What does WV have to do with it? |
I'm sorry, but child sex = child rape. By law, children are considered too young to be able to give consent and so there is no such thing as consensual sex with a minor. It's just a nicer way of saying it, but it is the same thing. |
