Does Zappos ever turn off the tap?

I don't know. I order a lot of things online, and thanks to the extensive reviews and loads of info on their website, I rarely return things.

No, I don't think they would ever revoke the free return shipping, that's part of their deal. There are probably more people like PP and myself who don't return things very often than there are people like you, so it evens out. I love Zappos.

Yes -- the shipping is still free both ways, but the overnight thing will end if you return a sufficient percentage of what you order.

It happened to me. Not a big deal, because the stuff I ordered would sit in the Zappos Staging Area of our house for a few days before I got around to trying it on anyway.

I love it too, but I wish they did coupon codes from time to time. Piperlime has a similar free shipping/free returns policy, and they routinely send out 15 or 20% off coupons in the mail and online. Same with shoebuy.com (not as good of a selection) and shoes.com (not as good of a return policy -- I think you might have to pay).

Another poster you rarely returns. What is your deal OP? What's the point of ordering a bunch of stuff you then turn around and return. It's people like you who usually ruin it for the rest of us when the policies change and you can no longer return certain things or they make it a pain.

I do the same thing -- I order a whole bunch of similar shoes knowing that, at best, I will keep one pair. Zappos' response was to upgrade me to VIP status.

Ok Angry Bird, lighten up. I'll order a bunch of shoes for my kids, for example, because their feet are really hard to fit and the selection at stores around here sucks. Generally I return because something doesn't fit or the color is terrible in real life or whatever. If every thing you order is exactly what you expected then you are either a genius or totally stuck in a rut.

What I like is that you have a year to return something. I usually have an extra box from Zappos sitting in my office that I'm not sure whether I want to return or not. I keep about half of what I order from there.

I have a hard time finding shoes that fit my feet and I wear narrow shoes that aren't available at most stores. So I order a lot of shoes, try them on at home, and return most of them. This is the only way that I have found sneakers that fit me.
