I noticed my old go to brands like theory and jcrew have gotten worse over time. Materials thinner and flimsier. Seams coming apart after months not years.
So ladies, I hate shopping and don't like having to replace clothes so often. Can you recommend brands that last? As far as look, I'm a fan of sleek simple designs like Vince, theory & rag and bone (which despite being owned by theory has excellent stuff, though pricey for everyday wear). I'm desperate for some shorts that aren't too bulky. And the jcrew ones that arrived in the mail has loose threads :p So what brands (with good quality construction) do you like for shorts or anything else? |
LL Bean?
REI? Eddie Bauer? |
OP...We have the same taste!
James Perse Elleen Fisher Three Dot Allen Allen Michael Star Velvet Splendid |
Op here. Allen Allen is someone I haven't hear of. Thanks!
But none of them do shorts ![]() |
EF has petites |
I second James Perse for tees. I think Splendid and Velvet are somewhat erratic - some flimsy, some not. |
agree with 19:59. spendid is hit or miss. in fact, i haven't bought anything from splendid in six years. their stuff pills very easily.
velvet is always on sale rack. probably for a good reason. EF is frumpy. tibi might be up your alley. |
Although I used to think Lands End had only frumpy stuff they are starting to sell more fitted clothing with clean lines that have been very nice, high quality additions to my wardrobe. Love their no-iron shirts. In shirts I usually buy a size smaller than I do in other brands. |
I shop Bloomingdales sale. I find the clothes I get there last.
