3 Yr. Old Spots Opening this Summer - Takoma DC - Spanish Immersion

Our daughter is at Mi Palacio which has a brand new space in the Trinity Epsicopal Church on the corner of Piney Branch and Dahlia St. NW (metro accessible). It is not a religious pre-school, but it is housed in the church. Marisol was a former early childhood special education teacher and now runs her own stellar program. I cannot say enough good things - great student:teacher ratio, kind, loving, educational and engaging, lots of play and outdoor time, clean, etc. You even get a personalized daily breakdown of what your child did that day, and they bring home a lot of art work.

The program is open for children ages 0-5, but there will be some 3 year old spots opening up as kids transition to public pre-school. Marisol's number is 202.276.3437.

This is very useful as I live very close.

Great! Mi Palacio is absolutely amazing and developmentally appropriate. Good luck!

I just wanted to second the recommendation for Mi Palacio.

We have twins who will be 3 this summer and also attend Mi Palacio. It's a fantastic place and the preschool program at the new center is wonderful. Marisol Espinosa clearly has a lot of experience, and the personal attention from the teachers is great. We feel very lucky to have found it, and at this point, are hoping we can keep our kids there until Kindergarten.

The title says Spanish Immersion.. OP, if you are still around can you provide some detail about how immersive the program is? Will the entire day be in Spanish? If not, which lessons are in Spanish? What about general instructions between lessons/activities, will they be in spanish of english? Will letters/phonics be taught in Spanish, english or both?

We are looking for a Spanish Immersion program for 3yo DD. Most of the places I have called turn out to be bi-lingual rather than immersion. Worse still are the places that have an English speaking instructor and a Spanish speaking assistant.

It is full Spanish immersion with teachers and assistants who are primary Spanish speakers. My daughter is learning everything in Spanish - numbers, letters, songs, stories, shapes, colors, concepts (recently full and empty), etc.

Give Marisol a ring and visit - she's very accommodating and you'd get to see the school in full-swing.

My 10:40 post was about Mi Palacio being full Spanish immersion - not de colores.

Does anyone know of Marisol rates for a 3 month old? And then a 3 year old? Thanks

Not sure if she has any breaks for siblings. I pay $75 per day for my three year old. I was one of her first clients when she opened about two years ago and we don't have a sibling. You could set up a visit and she could review everything with you.

PP - we also attend part-time, so rates may be different. I'm just not sure.....

My rate for a 10 mth old (who started in June) is $350/week. You pay monthly and have to pay 1/2 month deposit as well. It's a great place for younger kiddos, providers are very loving!

Yes a daily rate is different from actually going full-time. Does anyone know her full time rates. I'm also interested as well. Don't want to bother her if its too expensive. Thanks

Full time rate is $350/week. We have two kids there, and there is not a sibling discount. At the time she opened the new center, $350/week was the cost for all ages, but she could confirm whether the prices have changed.
