What is the deal with Amazon Moms?

Anonymous
Just recently heard of Amazon Moms and I'm trying to figure out if it's worth it to save on diapers & wipes (two kids in diapers), but I don't think you can see the prices unless you join. Can someone give me the scoop?

Thanks!

It's free to join, so unless you don't shop at amazon at all, there's no reason to hesitate joining. The price difference on diapers and wipes didn't beat out the Costco price for Kirklands, which is what we've been using. However, the benefits of two day shipping on other items (milk storage bags, teething stuff, etc)- even non baby items - is a great perk. For every 25 you spend on baby items, your amazon mom benefit is extended by a month, if I recall correctly.

Amazon moms is free and gives you 5% off and if you sign up for prime shipping it goes up to 20%. 2 years ago when i had my first the discount was an automatic 30% off which was a really good deal. I dont understand what you mean that you cant see the prices. They have all the prices for everything. Just subtract 5 or 20% off the regular price.

Amazon Prime is $79/year.

When I joined in August i was as 22:42 described, but I think it's not as great anymore. Worth reading the description/FAQs. I'm going to be really bummed when my free shipping runs out in August - not sure I want to pay $79/year for Prime.

How is the video selection of Amazon Prime?

Ok most of what pp's said is somewhat incorrect. It's free to join. The discount is 15% (you get an addt 5% subscribe & save). They changed it last december where it used to be free w/monthly extensions up to a year for 25$ purchases. Now it's only free for 3 months then to continue to receive the discount of 15% you need to sign up for prime at $79 per year. During the free period you get prime perks at no addt cost. After your 3 months again you have to sign up & pay for prime to continue to get 2 day shipping & 15% discount.

My free membership just expired (I had the old 12 month program) and it was def worth signing up for on the diapers I use, huggies pure & natural and I got them basically for buy one get one 1/2 off. Never saw them cheaper anywhere else. In fact before my free membership ended I bought 6 months worth of diapers. So depending on the diapers you use it could be worth it (it is free after all) for the three months.

Just FYI if it interests you -- I think Amazon Prime also lets you use the Kindle Library, if you have a Kindle. I only have Amazon Mom right now, not the Prime subscription, so I don't believe I get access to the Kindle Library.

Just go to diapers.com. It sounds like much less of a hassle.

We thought it was a decent deal for diapers before our second fit into target diapers, but we had the old plan. Even with the 20% discount, the pampers were more than target brand and not worth the premium after the wet stripe becomes less useful.

I love it when I had free Prime for a year, but now thats it's expired I don't want to pay the $79 for prime shipping, when Diapers.com has free 2-day shipping. I guess Amazon doesn't mind losing customers.
