Anyone bid on a house where not allowed to go inside before offer?

It's not a foreclosure and has fallen out of contract once. There's a rental unit, but I don't think it's a secret it's for sale. Why do sellers do this? Red flag?

how are you supposed to judge a place based solely on the outside? would be a huge red flag for me.

It's buying a cat in the bag. No way I would buy a house without seeing it, unless I'm planning on tearing it down.

Even if they were giving it away, you could end up with some huge dry rot bill. You'd need an airtight inspection contingency.

Never in a million years would I ever bid on a house that I had never been inside. I guess maybe if you intend to tear it down, but even then I would be worried.
