Tea Party: WTH Happened to You?

Anonymous
Weren't you the party that wanted outsiders to shake up washington and focus on taxes and limited government? So now your preferred candidate is a former Senator who is fixated on social issues. WTH?

Remember "It's the economy, stupid"?. That phrase does not mean "In your list of twenty different issues, also include the economy". It also doesn't mean "anything is better than our opponent, so we really don't have to focus on that".

Your party is picking candidates on the wrong things. Save your party. Focus on limited government and taxes, and dump the nonsense. It's too late for you to get behind a real political outisider (unless you think Romney counts), but at least you can stick to the thing you so ardently believe is the single most important political issue of our day.

Stop joking around; no one really believed them about all that, did they?

The Tea Party is a totally fictional construct. They've been around forever. They're the social conservative wing of the GOP. In the 60s they were the John Birch society. Nothing new here whatsoever.

Or course, you need to change the packaging now and again. No one's going to do a new story on "Same old resentful old white people are grousing again."
