What's Your New Year's Resolution?

Anonymous
I have several and I am going to follow through! Really!!

1. Go to sleep a half hour earlier and have more energy for kids.
2. Spend less money on stuff I don't need.
3. Lose five more pounds with Zumba!

What's yours?

Great idea for a post! Here are my resolutions:

(1) Stand up for myself whenever possible.
(2) Stop worrying so much and learn to truly relax.
(3) Be empathetic and helpful to others without sacrificing my own well-being.
(4) Get some closure from old relationships that are still dragging me down because I'm holding on to hurt feelings.
(5) Go see doctors for stuff that I've been worrying about but for which haven't gotten around to making appointments.
(6) Tell my loved ones (especially my DH) how much they are appreciated.

Geez -- now that I've put the resolutions in writing, I feel like I actually have to stick to them!

I think we should have Midyear Resolutions too...when we forget all about our New Years ones!

Mine are to:
a. take a Caribbean vacation
b. join the gym for more than two months
c. do more for the homeless

OP...My husband and I took a Zumba Gold class (for us seniors who like to boogie) at my sister's gym in Miami. Where can I find a class in DC? I'm in the Alexandria area. I haven't moved my hips like that in years and it was so fun! I suppose I could just google it like the youngsters do.

OP here, 13:34, you can check out www.zumba.com to find classes near you anywhere in the world. How lucky you are to have taken classes in Miami, where it all started. You didn't by chance take Beto's class did you? I plan to go to one of his workshops someday.

I tend to steer away from the mushy... my resolution this year is to tell people how I feel.

Enough with the Zumba already--this isn't supposed to be an advertising site for you!

I wasn't advertising my class, I do that on the event side. I was answering a question about Zumba if that is ok with you. There is another Z instructor that said where her classes were, but I never have unless someone asks. It is okay to talk about Zumba or Yoga or anything on this board...it's not like we're limited to babytalk. Happy New Year.

Those who posted they wanted to lose weight, eat better, exercise, whatever, there's a new thread in the exercise/beauty forum for those who want to update on progress.

To let DH handle all the drama, endless planning and arranging, and generalized bullshit that my ILs dish out.

Literally, I just walk past the phone now when caller ID shows it's them calling.

Have more sex with DW and lose some weight.

I have many-- and I've decided to phase them in rather than try to make a lot of changes at once. Every week I add something new.

I think this strategy is working better than anything I've tried before. Hurray!
