de nada. If my AU student comes tonight, I'll ask her info about the class there. It's probably cheap since it's mostly college kids.

Anyone know what time the evening class is?

How about in Rockville? Or Montgomery County?

I looked on the Zumba site, but alot of the classes are held at gyms. I'm not a member, so I assume I can't take a class held at a gym.

the evening class at JOM is at 6:30.

For Rockville, check Elena's Dance Studio. For Moco, I know there's one at Blue Heron Yoga. There might be classes going on at other local dance studios that are perhaps not listed on Zumba's website. Although they should be!

Some gyms also allow non-members to take classes. I know Bally's does.

Here's a bunch more on CL:

Alright, I don't live in DC anymore but after all this time of hearing zumbamama talk about how great it is, plus my friend in SF who takes a class and loves it (and told me I would too - I love to dance) - I just found a local class and I'm finally going to head there this Sat. morning to check it out. I also just rejoined WW to lose 20ish lbs post-baby #2 so I like all the talk of it being a great calorie burner. Looking forward to it!

to the PPs,

JOM has 3 locations: Friendship Heights, Bethesda and NE DC.

Try different instructors, as the difference between any 2 can be like night and day. Because Zumba is not a pre-choreographed set-in-stone kind of workout, each instructor has creative freedom. Which means you might take it with a really strong instructor or a weak one...or one that plays more hip hop and one that plays more salsa...and everyone has different tastes.

I've been to a few that were pure torture and didn't break much of a sweat....with instructors that barely smile or look at themselves the whole time or are too complicated to follow...and then I've been to some phenomenal classes where I'm drenched and pumped the whole time.

Wow, thanks for that link! I wouldn't have thought to look on CL.

I didn't see anything at Elena's, but they did have some at Blue Heron.

I might have to give it a try.

LOL, Zumba, I thought this was just an enthusiastic poster writing to tell us YOU were on national TV! That is what zumba means to me.

haha I posted this like 2 years ago when I was a new instructor. I was so excited that day. Although, I thought it was national but it wasn't. It was only local.

LOL I thought the same thing. I am going to try some classes starting this weekend. I'm kind of nervous. I hope I get someone good.
