Piney Orchard Elementary?

I am relocating to the area and have found a house I like in Piney Orchard. Does anyone have experience or knowledge of Piney Orchard elementary? My daughter is in kindergarten, and I am looking for good public schools for her. Everything I can find on the web seems ok, just wondering if anyone has any additional thoughts?

I'm sorry, I can't speak to the exact school but I used to teach in Anne Arundel and the schools in general have a not so great (read bad) reputation in this area, with the exception of the Broadneck district. If you are set on public school, you might want to look in the Broadneck area (Arnold/Annapolis) or look in Montgomery County. Good luck with your move!

Severna park or Broadneck(Arnold) schools are a better bet in Anne Arundel County.

Annapolis schools are not very good, imo. Especially the Annapolis high school which has had a *lot* of problems over the last few years.

Huh?? No offense, but to say that all schools in AA Co. (with the exception of the Broadneck district) aren't great is patently false. Check out the AAPS website -- Crofton, Davidsonville, Severna Park and Piney Orchard all have great schools. Piney Orchard's MSA scores are like 97 percent proficiency -- a rating on Great Schools of 10 (the highest), which is on par with the very best in the entire state.

Now, if you are talking about some schools in Annapolis or the Fort Meade area -- that's another store.

I have a number of friends who live in Piney Orchard and love the community. OP, I think you made a fine choice.
