Would you be upset if a friend wrote into a talk show for your family?

Say your family was in need of a new car or just having major financial trouble, would you be upset if a friend wrote to a talk show to help?

Is that all they "wrote in"? No, I'd be touched.

Writing in to the show is one thing; getting to the point when the talk show interviews you or asks you to participate is another thing.
With the initial letter, I'm sure one might feel humbled to the point of embarassment or shame; but one can always decline to be part of the show if they wish.

I have been in need to the point of really needing help from family & friends and it is incredibly humbling. It is difficult to be a humble acceptor.
But sometimes we need to say, 'thank you, I accept.'

Your decision OP. I am sure there were good intentions. I knew someone that refused Oprah once, long ago (long story, obviously it was Oprah). She had no regrets.

I wish someone would write to a talk show on our behalf. We could really use the help.

I'd be mortified

I'd be pissed. Not sure I could get past it.

Depends...are you writing into Maury or Jerry Springer?

Is there a difference?

Do you need to know the paternity of your child?

No. I'd be grateful for the help.

If it were for one of Oprah's gifting shows, I would love her forever. Same for What Not to Wear. If it were for anything else I would probably be embarrassed and a bit annoyed.
