Obama golfing

Those are the choices your husband makes to support your lavish lifestyle (and I assume it's lavish since by your description you earn north of $1 million per year, since that's the ONLY group of people Obama thinks is underpaying tax)

No one is forcing him to do these things. Your husband is also entitled to play more golf and take more vacation. He just chooses not to do so, for whatever reason.

Really? Because Obama campaigned on taxing earners making over $200,000. That's our family. Oh yeah, and the reason he doesn't take off time from his job? Because he would lose his job. He works for a private firm, not the government.

Obama's current proposal is for a tax increase on those making over $1 million.

During the campaign, Obama supported keeping the Bush tax cuts -- which were due to expire -- for the lower tax brackets. Congress ended up extending all the Bush tax cuts for another year. If Obama's campaign proposal had become law -- and the upcoming expiration will provide another opportunity for it -- taxes would return to pre-Bush levels for individuals making more than $200,000 and families making more than $250,000. However, this increase is just 3.6% and only affects those dollars above $200,000 or $250,000. So, unless you are significantly above those levels, you would hardly notice.

How good is Obama at Golf ? From the amount of times he has gone he must be a pro , is he practicing for his post 2012 career?

He's only averaging one round every 2-3 weeks. Probably a bunch of that is during vacation. So it's not that much.

You think your husband is working. That is what he is telling you. He is taking time off. He may not be spending it on the golf course, but he is spending it somewhere. You say he is in the earned million dollar tax bracket, and he takes no leisure time. Yeah right. Pitch that to someone who is not so naive.

Everybody has downtime. There are 168 hours in a week, and I know very few people who average more than 90. It's all a matter of how you use them. Obama has been accused of spending 300 hours on golf over the course of 3 years. That works out to 1.9 hours a week.

So if you watch 2 reality shows a week, that's enough time to cover Obama's golf trips. If you watch a football/baseball game every weekend, also enough. If you go to one happy hour a week, that is enough.

hey everyone deserves a break, but why did Obama golf 70 rounds and take nearly three years before turning his attention to jobs? I know for many on this board unemployment is jsut a statistic, but when you are deparate for a job, you'd like to think the President cares more than that!

Oh come on. Everyone knows he started his first year with the stimulus plan and the payroll tax holiday. You don't like that plan but you can't pretend he was not paying attention to unemployment. I think those Fox guys have you spinner around in circles. But you can't rewrite history.

Even Obama didn't claim to be focusing on jobs until this summer, so it's amazing what his apologists will come up with.

No, Obamacare didn't create jobs. It has cot jobs and will ost more. Ask a small business owner.

The stimulus???? Complete disaster. Most of the money went to save union pensions and it didn't bring unemployment down as promised.

Because he didn't.

Jobs was Job One from Day One.

The stimulus was passed in February 2009. Unfortunately, it wasn't as effective as it should have been because half of it was tax cuts.

But the suggestion that he played 70 rounds of golf in his first six weeks of office isn't supported by the facts.

Gee, anonymous seems to be having a hard time getting their facts straight.

The fact is Obama played more than 70 rounds of golf before introducing what HE called a “jobs bill” and announcing that his focus would be on jobs. Now, if you want to pretend that Obamacare was REALLY a jobs bill or that the ineffective “stimulus” bill was a jobs bill – go ahead, but just be aware that the your spin is contrary to the facts.

For the “anonymous” who cited the NY Times, really? Are you serious? The NY Times? They are less credible than Faux News.

It is striking how many people can be led to believe what they are told instead of what they see with their own eyes. Come on folks, wake up. Obama is the worst president Jimmy Carter. How can people not see that

I am no fan of Obama, but this is simply ridiculous. Simply compare Obama to George W. Bush. Bush entered office having been left record budget surpluses. He left office leaving record budget deficits. Bush got us into two useless wars. His tax cuts account for the greatest portion of deficit growth. Bush ignored a written report saying that Bin Laden was determined to strike within the US and then failed to bring Bin Laden to justice despite having over 7 years to do so. Bush went from the bluster of "Wanted Dead or Alive" to "He's not that important".

Bush was dealt a royal flush but somehow managed to lose both his pants and shirt (or more accurately, our pants and shirt). Obama was dealt a very weak hand, has made a series of bad bets and proved to be completely unable to bluff. But, despite his errors, he has not even come close to wrecking things as badly as Bush.
