I have very wide feet and have had foot surgery so I will not wear uncomfortable shoes anymore. I have found that you generally have to try on even "wide" size shoes; some are more comfortable than others, and occasionally the heel space is too wide. I've had some luck at Nordstrom Rack in Friendship Heights -- they have wide widths. Also, I like the Fitzwell brand, which is sold on Zappos. I also get a lot of shoes from Bandolino; for some reason, their wide sizes are very comfortable for me.

good to read this. Now I have some ideas for what to put in my shoe store once it opens... I knew it was hard to find small shoes (under side 5) but I guess finding wides has gotten pretty tough too... |
