an increase in trolling?

I'm going to report a bunch of posts, but I wondered if it was just the posts I was reading - has there been an increase in trolling? I wonder if these are multiple people or just one person.
I logged in to see if my reports will come through as all coming from me. |

The "Report" form is not set up to use your logged in identity. But, since you included your email address, I could have emailed a response.
The posts you reported were all from different posters. I would argue that those were not exactly examples of trolling so much as just rude responses. In some cases, the point of the poster was actually valid, it was just presented in a pretty impolite manner. Trolling is an intentional attempt to stir up a debate. DCUM has always had its share of trolls and I'm not sure that there is an increase in their number. But, I think there has been an increase in the number of overly rude posts. We also have always had our share of those, but I think that we have a larger number of users for whom rude responses are the normal type of reply and who rarely post responses that aren't rude. I have been starting to track such posters and encouraging them to change their ways. |

yeah, I only found the three, but I'll keep my eyes out - I always looked at trolling as throwing in a rude response to get a rise out of people.
I am glad to hear you're tracking some of the people who are just throwing rude responses out there. |
