Does anyone have that perfect Christmas you see on the movies?

No, it doesn't exist. I had pretty great Christmases as a child, so no way could a Christmas as an adult live up to that. Plus, my mother was crazy into Christmas, and it just isn't the same celebrating the holiday without her since she passed away

I LOVE Christmas. I'm listening to Christmas music right now. No one has a perfect Christmas but it wouldnt be the holiday without the usual family gripes. Luckily my husband loves it as much as I do and gets just as excited. Getting the tree, digging out the decorations, the annual angel/lighted star debate, baking cookies for Santa, crazy busy mall times, seeing the National Tree. And now that we have a child (she's 4) it's even better to see the magic through her eyes. I would say the best part is after all the gifts have been opened and you're just sitting around with your family.

I'm the PP...I forgot to add, I love to watch all the sappy corny Christmas movies too.

I'm hoping for the 4 Christmases movie ending some day. 26 years after parental divorce. Still optimistic!

I'm a single mom with a young daughter; my ex and I alternate Christmases with her. When I have her, we go home to visit my family in the midwest and it's awesome hanging with my folks, my 5 siblings and their kids. We have a lot of fun together, eating most meals together, attending church on Christmas eve, watching Elf and Christmas Story, and opening presents on Xmas day.

When I don't have her, I go home anyway and feel like a teenager. I read a ton, catch up on sleep, work out more, drink lots of wine with my sis and spend more time with my nieces/nephews so the time flies by pretty quickly. I love Christmas!

OP, I am also single, and I LOVE Christmas. My solution has been to adopt lots of friends in this area. I have a tradition with one friend's kids of taking them out to see Christmas lights at the Mormon temple. With another friend's family, I always bake cookies and let her kids decorate them. I also go all out decorating my place and buying gifts and cards for all my friends and family who live all over the country. It's not the same as one perfect day, but I have lots of great memories of the season each year.

I had one "perfect" Christmas and I cherish the memory.

Mine resembles a family Christmas if the Griswolds are the family.
