My mother is flying into National today. I park at the end of the yellow line (Huntington) so I am going to "pick her up" on the way home. I would like to stay inside the Metro system (yes, so I don't have to pay another $2.50) but I think there are 2 entrances and 2 kioks at the airport metro station. She is flying in on USAir. Would it make sense to tell her to follow the signs for the metro that are closest to the USAir terminal and then wait outside the gates, where I will hand her my spare metro card for her fare? Or should I just exit and meet her in the terminal? Thanks.

Well, how good is she with public transit systems?
If she's from someplace where she uses trains regularly, I would just get her to follow signs for metro. If not, I would meet her at the terminal. Really, $2.50 is NOT a big deal compared to the cost of the flight. Also, make sure she turns her cell phone ON and in a pocket where she can hear it ring when the plane lands, just in case you need to call her. |
Thanks. I know its a silly question. I guess I needed a reality check. I will leave it up to her.
For $2.50 you should exit and meet her.
I'd just meet her inside. That way if one of you is early (or late) you can wait inside where it's warm instead of in the outdoor metro
You can't spend an extra $2.50 to meet your mom in the terminal? Seriously?
Maybe this is just me, but my mom would kick my a$$ if I didn't think it was worth $2.50 to meet her inside after she just flew here to see me.
