How can someone justify this sale price?

It's the architectural style. The other cool thing about this house is that the original wainscoting and moulding is intact. (At least it looks that way from the photos.) Old house buffs are into that.

A Cleveland Park historic bungalow like this one is far more tasteful and understated than most of the monstrosities I see popping up elsewhere.

What I don't get about the price is the entire cost - 2,493,615. Most would just list it as 2,493k. Or even 2,494.9k. But 2,493,615? Geez, what are they thinking?

Sometimes when I'm bored I go on Manhattan chat rooms and tell everyone they're delusional that they -think- they're gonna get One. Million. Dollars. for a studio apartment in the Village, OMFG can you believe the idiocy?!?!? A studio apartment should cost $125,000 in Silver Spring, Md.!!!!!

No I don't really do that. You should also probably stick to what you know.

SOmeone seems a bit agitated. And in Fairfax for that amount you can get your own little piece of the county.

It's a singular property for Cleveland Park - style, space and acreage.

However, to ask that amount of money, they needed to upgrade the kitchen and perhaps other rooms. Not doing so is just an insult to a buyer.

Maybe they'll get $1.75M.

ITA.

It's a unique property, but also agree that the house (esp kitchen) and landscaping need work. The front has little curb appeal and the dining room only fits a small table.

DC real estate is depressing in all price brackets...

It says that the house has 10 bedrooms.

It's including the bedrooms in the other two buildings. The main house has 6.

I saw this house online before reading this post. The price isn't shocking for the area. The house looks extremely creepy to me though! Ghost Hunters kind of creepy!
