We need to switch for insurance purposes by the end of the summer and I am looking for some good reccomendations....
Where in the county, and do you prefer big or small practices?
The Pediatric Care Center on Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda has been great for us. They will meet with you before making an appointment to see if they fit your needs. I love the docs and staff. Good Luck
Dr. Steven Hirsch near Shady Grove Hospital.
|
Capital Medical Group. Search them on these threads. We like Dr. Jones, Dr. Sherin and Dr. Pearl.
Located at 8401 Conn. Ave just inside the beltway. |
OP - tell us your general area - it's a long hike between Germantown and silver Spring, for instance. You'll get a lot of useless recommendations unless you're more specific with the area in which you need to find a doctor.
I am the orginial poster. We live in Gaithersburg but I am willing to drive for the right person. I am sitting here at work calling people on the insurance list and no one will let me come into meet them before I decide to use them! Very frustrated....
Drs. Moyer, Hart & Hall (all women if it matters) near Lakeforest Mall. 301-840-0840. Not a fancy office but small friendly practice and very good about calling back, wait times, etc. I've not had any complaints and have seen all three doctors who have provided excellent care. I know I met with Dr. Moyer briefly before my kid was born to ask all my questions re the practice.

A little far from you but Metropolitan Pediatrics (Dr. Kulp is great, also have seen Dr. Sguigna and like her too). We made an appt before our DS was born to go in and ask questions etc. They charge $25 for that I think. Small practice.

I love our ped (Silver Spring near Wheaton): Dr. Gitterman (301) 681-7020. He's in a practice w/ 2 other peds. You stick w/ your primary doctor unless it's an emergency/drop-in and your normal doctor isn't in that day. They have several nurses that answer even the silliest/smallest question same day normally. They do run late, though, (although I suppose this is pretty normal for a doctor) and don't have seperate sick/well waiting rooms, which i've heard some of the larger ones have. I personally would not pick someone so far from my house, but since you asked....
I and several of my friends take our kids to Children's Pediatricians and Associates. They have several doctors to choose from and we have dealt with them all and been pleased. They have offices in Montgomery Village and in Germantown. Good luck on your search.

I love Dr. Potter at Potomac Pediatrics. I have never had to wait to be seen, they are always on time, and the staff are wonderful.
