What do you do at the beach if it is raining??

Silly question--
We've been offered a beach condo this weekend in North Ocean City near 120th street or so. The weather forecast seems to be for rain.

My husband and I have been working hard and we were looking forward to getting away with our six year old daughter.

I'm having second thoughts now because they weather forecast isn't that great.

Would you go to the beach if it were raining? What do you do there? There's a small indoor pool at the complex, but that's it.

Any ideas?

There is an indoor mini-golf place at about 75th street (there is an outdoor dinosaur themed course just outside of it). Also, if it's just drizzling but not pouring rain, you can still go do the boardwalk and go on rides (especially since there is a large area of indoor rides). I think this weekend is Sunfest so there were probably lots of activities planned all over OC for that and some may be indoors or be in covered areas.

We usually go to VA beach for a week. At some point during the week (a couple days) it rains. We usually go to the movies, putt putt golf, bowling, the malls (maybe all in the same day if it's a total washout).

Is it cold? I grew up spending summers by the beach and we'd go down even with rain...

Dig a moat for your castle.

This is helpful, as are other responses. Thank you.

I'm the 11:13 PP. Another idea for if it's gray and drizzly and not a beach-worthy day is a trip to Berlin. It's a really charming town with tons of great boutiques, antique shops, and a few neat places to eat. Runaway Bride was filmed there and many of the store owners have memorabilia and stuff up on the wall. It's just a neat place to visit. There is a glass blowing studio there and the artist does demos. It's about a 20 minute drive from 120th street, pretty much just over the Rt 90 bridge.

If you have childcare, there is also the new casino (slots and electronic table games only) at the race track, also just over the Rt 90 bridge.

We had a couple rainy days at the beach this year. We went to a craft store and bought those little pre-made wooden boxes, a bunch of paints and some glue. The kids painted the boxes and glued seashells on them. Sure, it's just another thing to put on a shelf, but everyone had a lot of fun.

Thanks 11:13! Great suggestions that I didn't know about since we are not veteran beach go-ers.

Go swimming. Rain makes the water warmer.
