I over ordered for a party at our home yesterday. WAY over ordered. Unfortunately we had 5 adults and 2 kids cancel at the last minute - and it was a relatively small party to begin with. So I'm left with a ridiculous amount of deli meat and brie and cake. Other items, I can use up (fruits, veggies, crackers, cheese cubes), but the meat and brie in particular - unfortunately, they were served, so I can't donate them. The cake I just dumped - I can't even look at it anymore without getting nauseous!
So - can I freeze deli meat and cheese? What can I do with the brie (which has a topping)? Or should I just put it all down the garbage disposal - that is, what's left by Wednesday... (As I munch on my midmorning snack of crackers, brie and fresh apple slices... and plan to have "lunch for dinner" for the next 2 nights.) Sigh. Thanks. |

Become popular with your neighbors...go door to door offering some.
Call a local church and ask if they have any elderly members that would appreciate some leftovers. |
| Bring it in to the office and feed your coworkers! |
| OP here - I work from home! Otherwise, I would. |

The meat can be frozen, as for the brie, I've never tried it but I would think that if you cut it into smaller peices and vacuum sealed it I would think that it would last for some time in the fridge.
Or can you remove the topping on the brie and find a good fondue recipie? |
| How about your husband's coworkers? The teacher's lounge at school? I like the church idea...it's tough I hate throwing away food. |
| I'd take it to the teachers' lounge now. |
