Deciding whether to buy a backyard swingset

Anonymous
We got one last winter and it is great. Mosquitos keep us from using every day because at dinner time they are fierce but it is great to be able to have the kids playing while puttering in the garden or BBQing, having a drink outside etc. Nice to be able for them to climb etc without always having to walk to the park.
We got ours on Craigslist for $100, it's a huge fort/slide/climbing wall swingset. My husband is handy and we have a friend with a big truck. Bring a bucket for all the bolts and a socket wrench set if you have to disassemble it yourself. We could never have afforded a new one + assembly.

love ours. my kids (5 and 3) mostly just use the swings. they will play pirates and use the fort when friends come over. my 10 year old nephew will still use the swings on his playset but not much else.

It took my DH two trips in his medium size pick up. The people we bought it from left it on "chunks" which made assembly much easier. You could tent a pick up gr Home Depot or UHAUL. OP it was so much cheaper, I think we paid $500
